100+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
In 1883 Piero Bracciani, head clerk of the most important haute couture company in Milan decided to set up his own business and took on the representation of the company Sciamà of Paris, then the leading company in the trade of high fashion products.
At that time the hats and stoles were garnished with feathers, so the pace of the transformation of the activity was short.
Later with the help of his sons Luigi and Ottone he opened a company in the Bonaparte forum in Milan for the feather trade.
The feathers that were imported from all over the world were used for the production of hats, coats and uses for military productions. Slowly the inclusion in the national and world market is paramount.
At the age of 15, the current owner decides to give up his studies, which he will resume later, to begin his work that continues.
Since then, the transformation of the company began, which became commercial as a craft for the processing of feathers. Invent machines that simplify work by making it faster and more productive. These machines were also required abroad so much so that in 1964, at the time of Mao, he was invited by the Chinese government to study the possibility of collaboration. In the meantime, his wife Lucia joined the company and together they decided in 1966 to build the first shed in Santo Stefano that later, with the increase in work, will be tripled.
The first major customers are Americans and Arabs who demand ostrich boas and marabouts thousands of feet away. This is why a new machine is invented that automatically produces these borders without the need for old hand looms, or with mechanized “twisting”.

FEATHER PROFESSIONALS
In 1976, the Merli law came into operation, paying attention to the problems of ecology. First of all in the magnetic field, we installed a purification plant for dyeing.
The collaboration with the main Italian opera houses begins, with theaters such as the Moulin Rouge and Les Dunes in Las Vegas. In 1981 he became president of ASSOPIUMA, an association between producers of feathers and down jackets that he carried for over 10 years. He then began collaborating with the main high fashion brands, both Italian, French, English, American, with whom he collaborated to create the most sophisticated models, interpreting the sketches that the designers gave him.
Emanuela, daughter of Piergianni and Lucia, after graduating from Bocconi University, choose to undertake the careers of parents by starting a collaboration. Initially he took Manudieci in his hands and then, after the death of his mother, who had given much to the company, even in Bracciani.
His contribution has been fundamental as it has brought new ideas and methods but above all the strength of youth that is decisive in the work. We are therefore in the fourth generation and probably the spirit of the grandfather Piero is what has contributed to the success. In his villa in Como he had written a motto “You’ll get it, if You really want it” and we continue to believe it.
